Positioned in one of the village’s colonial buildings, this beautifully restored guesthouse blends heritage charm with relaxed modern comfort.
Home of the Candelo Post Office since 1962, Braemar House is within walking distance of many Candelo venues.
It is fifty metres from the Candelo General Store and Café and within walking distance of the Candelo Service Station, the School of Arts Town Hall and the Candelo Hotel.
It also has easy access to the Candelo Swimming Pool and Candelo Tennis Courts.
And don’t forget the monthly Candelo Market held across the road on the first Sunday of each month!

How do I get to Candelo? Is there a public bus to Candelo?

It is about a 3 hour drive from Canberra via Cooma or a 6-7 hour drive from either Melbourne or Sydney.
By car, Candelo is:
• 24 kms southwest of Bega, 21 minutes
• 27 kms northeast of Merimbula, 23 minutes
• 30 kms northeast of Pambula, 24 minutes
• 48 kms north of Eden, 40 minutes
• 100 kms southwest from Cooma, 80 minutes
NSW Countrylink Canberra/Eden bus service stops on the Princes Highway at Wolumla, about 16 km from Candelo (15 minutes by car).
Do I need a car to get around Candelo? What about the surrounding area?
Within the village, shops and other places are within easy walking distance.
A car is needed to explore the beautiful rural landscape surrounding Candelo.
There is no public transport to Candelo.

Climate & Weather
Summer days are regularly around 30°C with average temperatures between 16°C and 24°C. Weather extremes are fairly rare with only a handful of days in the high 30's or even rarer into the 40's.
Savour long hours of sunlight, almost 14 hours, at the height of summer.
Winter typically has sunny days and chilly nights, with around 10 hours of daylight.
Winter temperatures range between an average minimum of 7°C and 17°C.

Braemar House is located in the heart of Candelo Village within easy walking distance of local eateries - the Candelo Café and General Store (open 7 days a week except Christmas and Easter Sunday tbc) and Candelo Hotel. You can explore local streets and walk along Candelo Creek. You can play tennis at the Candelo Tennis Courts and in swim in the Candelo Pool (Oct-March).

Browsing through the vintage wares of the Candelo Servo is bound to please. And the Candelo Market (1st Sunday of the month) are always full of wonderful treats and treasures. Candelo also hosts the Candelo Village Festival and other Candelo Arts Society events and the Annual Candelo Agricultural, Horticultural and Dairy Show.
